38 Weeks and Going Strong

Yes, that is my belly at 38 weeks. No, I'm not cheating and using a picture from a few weeks or months ago.

That being said, a lot of women get the "I'm so done being pregnant!" feeling around (or before) this time. That hasn't hit me yet. There have been two days recently when I have felt that, but it definitely isn't constant. So it really doesn't phase me that I could go another 3+ weeks before I have this baby. I suppose that would only be fair, for my baby to come late, since it has been an easy pregnancy. I still don't feel ready to have this baby, another reason more waiting doesn't bother my sanity. I've got lots to do and I'm not ready to be Mommy yet. My sister said that the "Mommy instinct" will kick in once I get to hold my munchkin. I hope that is right, otherwise I'm in for it!

Now I know that you can't plan on when baby comes. And I have learned from family not to try and plan/force baby to meet my schedule, unless they are really late. But here would be our ideal, if we could pick. David has 11 days (including weekends) off of school between this semester and the 6 week summer term. The 11 days end on the 4th of July. Our ideal would be for baby to make his appearance in those 11 days, which start next friday. But if he doesn't, I will be induced before July 11th (before a big assignment for David). Which means getting induced (if it comes to that) on July 9th-ish. My Dr. said that at my 41 week appt (if I get there) we will pick an inducement day because they want to make sure baby is out by week 42.

So, I am doing my part to prep my body for this baby--taking walks, drinking lots of water. But there is only so much I can do. Nevertheless, before another month goes by, I will officially be a mom. WEIRD!!!!
